I give up

They win. I give up. I've destroyed an entire buddy group and hurt people I don't even know, all because I tried to protect my own heart from breaking. I don't know what else to do but leave. I can't post any questions any more, because anything I do ask or say will be scrutinized by certain people. The old members of the aforementioned buddy group have made a new board that's invite only (as it should be) because of me and those who chose to vocally support my feelings. I feel terrible that all this happened, and all because someone posted images I feel are inappropriate.

Maybe I should go this TTC journey on my own. :(

Isn't it amazing...

Isn't it amazing how, in the eyes of some people, the only opinion you are allowed to have is one that matches theirs? Otherwise you are a horrible monster. This goes both ways. People saying they are from "where I can finally say what I want" telling people that they don't have the right to be upset about disturbing images. People who are already hurting that don't understand that dragging someone else into their pain is not going to ease it. If I don't want to see a certain image, I shouldn't have to. If I want to SAY that I don't want to see a certain type of image because it upsets me, I should have the right.

Freedom of speech goes both ways, folks.

Sneaky bits and hurt feelings :(

Bit of backstory, Fergus (my hubby) and I were at an SCA event last weekend. As we were checking in, this man came running into the room panicking, saying he was trying to find a white undertunic. Fergus pulled the one he had _just made_ off his shoulder and said "here you go!" The man replied "The King will be pleased! Thank you!" and dashes off. Poor Fergus looked like he had gotten smacked across the face with a fish. So after evening court, before we left, I stopped by just to let the King know we'd be at the event the following weekend. He had me go get Fergus and gave Fergus a token of Edward, the Black Prince, whose motto was "I serve" (whatever it is in latin) and said he'd bring the tunic back next weekend.

Fast forward to yesterday, which is the aforementioned "next weekend". As we're packing up, getting ready to go, I stop over to grab the tunic. I am told by a retainer that "The message we got was that Fergus said 'He's worn it more than I have, he might as well keep it.' " Well, that wasn't the idea at all... and Fergus told me so when I went to ask him. So, the retainer goes off to ask the King, and then he summons me into his presence. Turns out because the tunic wasn't finished (hems and cuffs were still undone... after all, the shirt had _just_ been made and we didn't have time to finish it) he didn't want to wash it. He has this sneaky plan, and don't any of you tell him this, to have the shirt finished, and have a new tunic made that's in Fergus's SCA time period. Well, I think this is a fantastic idea!

So, now Fergus is mad, thinking the King stole his tunic, and he was upset about the tournament the day before as well (but that's another story). I know the true story, but he's sulking. Sigh. I tried using the trick of commenting "Watch him have just forgotten, and he'll return it to you in court hemmed and cuffed!" but I don't think it made him feel any better. :( Ah well.

First post

So, I've finally decided to start a blog. No idea what I'll put in it, maybe gather baby gear ideas here, maybe I'll just let it lapse. Hard to say.
